This last spring, Sarah Herron and I headed to the Alps – Switzerland and Italy to be specific – and we wanted to see as much as we could in 10 days road tripping through the Alps. There were a few things each of us wanted to do: Sarah wanted to see the Matterhorn and go to Lake Como, and I simply wanted to hike as much as possible and climb. What we put together was a road trip through the Alps, starting from Zurich, driving south to Lake Como and heading back north along a different route back to Zurich.
Three Epic Adventures in Portugal
Without a doubt, Portugal is becoming a world destination. The capital Lisbon is a charming city filled with quaint restaurants, cool cablecars and a booming nightlife. The small country also has an immense history and a pretty diverse climate. But beyond the obvious choice of flying in, popping a few bottles of wine and watching the big Atlantic Ocean waves crash into the majestic cliffs, Portugal also has a booming adventure industry.

I do not know how for how long the snow fell, but by the time I hit the slopes the accumulative snowpack was reported at two meters. I’ve skied Utah, and this snow rivaled the “best snow on earth!” It was “blower”, “over the head”, “deepest day of the year”, etc. etc.
