Dylan H. Brown is an award-winning contemporary adventure photographer and videographer. His central focus is brand storytelling through compelling marketing campaigns, as well as editorial, commercial, and gallery work. In root-to-stalk productions, his creative direction allows content to reach every potential audience from television and social platforms to catalogue and billboard advertisements. REI, Athleta, Canon USA, LifeStraw, Cinch Jeans, Marble Distilling, and SheLift are a handful of the brands for which he’s produced content.
Dylan travels from the American Southwest’s deepest slot canyons to the highest villages of the Indian Himalaya and resurfaces with compelling visuals of landscapes and human portraiture. His affinity for the remote desert led him to complete the standup paddleboard first-descent of the 100-mile Escalante River, one of the most remote and wild rivers in the Lower 48. His imagery from the paddle exploration led to the co-creation of various multi-award-winning editorial stories, including a cover feature, in the nation’s elite outdoor publications.
In 2018, Dylan H. Brown became a recipient of multiple awards for Impermanence, a three-part contemporary still series that juxtaposes the desert southwest—one of the youngest landscapes in the world—with raw female form to examine the essence of fleeting realities: The mili-seconds that create a stunning photo exist but only once.
Prior to his commercial, gallery, and editorial career, Dylan cut his teeth as a sports photographer during a six-year stint at newspapers in Montana and Utah. When Brown isn’t behind the lens, you can find him backcountry skiing, mountain biking, and stand-up paddleboarding near his home in Colorado—or, exploring the furthest reaches of civilization somewhere in the world.
