Looking over Lake Ellen Wilson.
I had the pleasure of visiting one of my favorite places in the world, Glacier National Park. It was August of 2011 and the passes had just lost their last grip of winter.
I took this trip with my good friend Marnee Banks. It was just us two for three days. We passed by two lakes, two passes and a ton of wildlife. Gunsight Lake was a spectacle! The basin above it was filled with waterfalls, hanging snow fields and lush greenery. Our first night was spent at Gunsight Lake and our second was at Lake Ellen Wilson — quite possibly the most beautiful campsite in the whole park!

Before heading up the pass, we were greeted by a young moose.

Gunsight Mountian in early light.

There were many snow crossings. Snow axes recommended.

The high country bumble bees were out.

Simply amazing.

Great sunset photo by Marnee Banks.
